What an exciting, crazy time of year! One thing is for sure, Las Vegas knows how to Christmas! There are several other holidays celebrated in style in the Las Vegas Valley. Below is a list to get you into the Christmas spirit – and experience other holiday celebrations! Let us know if we’ve missed your favorite public Christmas event!
This is one of the newest off-strip Christmas attractions for the Holidays in Las Vegas 2018! I just drove by Cowabunga Bay last night and WOW! Christmas is a go with over 3 million Christmas lights brightening the area. There is snowball fighting, paint-balling, bouncing, sledding, trains, special holiday treats, and many Instagram-worthy Christmas backdrops. For season pass holders, entrance is free; otherwise, the cost is $25 per person. There are also treat packages that can be purchased for an additional charge. This amazing thing to do for the Holidays in Las Vegas 2018 is located at 900 W Galleria Dr, Henderson, NV 89011.
Have you ever been to a Cactus Garden lit with Christmas lights? Do you know what it’s like to walk through a chocolate factory and experience how chocolate is made with your own eyes? If the answer to one or both of those questions is no, then you’ll need to visit the Cactus Garden at Ethel M Chocolate Factory. Both the tour and the cactus garden is free, and you may be able to get a free sample of chocolate! You may also want to sign up for their chocolate tasting class ($15 per person) which is available for all ages at specific intervals throughout the day and a wine and chocolate tasting class for adults only. Mystic Falls inside of Sam’s Town Casino will get a winter wonderland makeover for the holiday season in Las Vegas! The Mystic Falls show begins at 2PM, 4PM, 6PM, 8PM, and 10PM everyday. You can stop by one of Sam’s Town’s many restaurants before or after the show! The show itself is free and features laser lights, a water fall that also has a fountain, and more! Sam’s Town is located at 5111 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, NV 89122.
From December 6th thru the 15th is Cowboy Christmas at the Las Vegas Convention Center! This annual 10 day event is the climax of the rodeo finals. There will be cowboys, cowgirls, vendors, and fun for all whether or not you are a cowboy yourself! Come experience the best of rodeo for Christmas at 3150 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89109. Tickets will need to be purchased before the event as seating is limited.
The Magical Forest is open now till December 31st! There will be Christmas lights, events, music, food, games, and more! Many children will be excited to hear there will be a mini roller coaster, a carousel, and train. Opportunity Village is such a neat outreach that allows people with intellectual disabilities to live a life they may not be able to otherwise. With several different programs based on a client’s abilities, Opportunity Village allows many disabled with the ability to earn a paycheck and work in a happy environment with seasonal events and cheer! There are so many different jobs and things to do to keep members of the village occupied and productive! Adult ticket cost is $12 and children are $10. Magical Forest is located at 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146.
The Neon Museum would be a fantastic place to get your Christmas photos taken! Not only do they have professional photo packages, but you can also tour the grounds, grab some hot chocolate, and choose various other packages with additional perks in addition to exploring this super cool museum of old lights and signs! Prices for entrance vary from $20 to over $40 depending on the package selected and photo sessions can cost over $150.
The Cosmopolitan is featuring for the 5th year in a row ice skating and Christmas movies on their 4th floor pool area which has been converted to a winter wonderland. There are skate rentals, hot chocolate and other drinks offered. There are also fire pits for rent for groups and s’more kits to make marshmallowy treats surrounding the ice rink. This thing to do for the Holidays in Las Vegas is located at 3708 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109 at the Boulevard Pool.
Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef is getting a Christmas makeover this December. There will be a Santa to take photos of and a Christmassy twist to this amazing exhibit. You may even see Santa swimming with the fishies! If you are looking for a great place to get a sharp Social Media Christmas photo, this is the place to visit! Tickets are $25 per adult though there are bulk ticket discounts, local discounts, and more so be sure to ask if you can get a better price! There are other packages offered at the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay, so while you’re asking for a discount you may want to check what else they are offering while you are there! This thing to do in Las Vegas for the holidays is located at 3950 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89119.
The Luxor Hotel and Casino is changing things up in their Titanic exhibit! This exhibit is gigantic and offers many different interesting items such as bags and other items from the Titanic. There are replicas of some of the famous dining and entertainment areas onboard the ship, staff members dressed in period appropriate attire, and an explanation of what the ship was like and what brought it two and a half miles under the sea. The exhibit really takes you back to the era of the Titanic and during December it offers a Christmas bonus from December 10th to the 17th! The address for this thing to do for the Holidays in Las Vegas is 3900 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89119. Ticket costs are $32 for adults but there are senior, children, and local discounts and packages where you can go to the Titanic Exhibit, Shark Reef, and several other attractions on the Strip. These combo packages can be seen on MGM’s website.
Between the Monte Carlo and the New York New York Hotel and Casino is Holiday in the Park! Prepare yourself for some holiday cheer in Las Vegas as you walk through Christmas lights and other attractions that include a gigantic fir tree! This would be a great thing to do if you wish to walk around the strip and enjoy some free holiday lights, huge trees, and Christmas decorations.
If you go to anything on the strip during the holiday season in Las Vegas, you have to drop by the Bellagio Fountains. The fountains will be coordinated with Christmas music that will be sure to get you into the Christmas spirit! During the day the fountains play every 30 minutes after 3 PM on weekdays and 12 PM on weekends, and after 8 PM and on weekends they pay every 15 minutes. Be sure to snap a selfie or an “ussie” if you are with a crowd! The fountains are located at 3600 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109.
LIGHT OF LIFE MENORAH AND WINE EVENT
Magical Forest at Opportunity Village is hosting a Menorah Lighting event on December 2nd starting at 5:30 PM. The cost for entrance is $12 for adults and drink and food packages are an additional cost. This event is hosted by the Jewish Family Service Agency and there will be live entertainment. You may want to get there early to explore Opportunity Village and grab a few other seasonal treats! Opportunity Village is located at 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146.
CHANUKAH FAMILY FESTIVAL AT TIVOLI VILLAGE
This is a free event! There will be Chanukah games, treats, live music and entertainment to celebrate Chanukah. Be sure to invite others to join in on these free activities and experience the joy and wonder of Chanukah. This event will be held from 1 PM to 3 PM at Tivoli Village which is located at 400 S Rampart Blvd Las Vegas , NV 89145. After the festivities are over you may want to get in some shopping or even more eating at Tivoli Village’s shops and restaurants.
GRAND MENORAH LIGHTING AT THE DISTRICT
Chabad of Henderson is hosting a Grand Menorah Lighting at The District Shops in Henderson. The event will feature special treats, live music and entertainment, dreidels, and all the things that make Hanukkah special! The event will be held on December 4th address is 240 Village Walk Dr Henderson, NV, 89052. Be sure to dress warm as this Menorah lighting will be held outdoors. You may also want to spend some time before or after grabbing coffee, dinner, or shopping around at The District!
COMMUNITY CHANUKAH CELEBRATION AT DOWNTOWN SUMMERLIN
Don’t miss this community-wide event to celebrate the last day of Chanukah! Jewish Nevada is hosting this event on December 9th from 4 PM to 7 PM. Downtown Summerlin is one of the Valley’s newest malls and will be the perfect place to end Chanukah right! This is also an outside area so be sure to bundle up. Downtown Summerlin is located at 1980 Festival Plaza Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89135.

The lighting of the Menorah
JFSA’s celebration at Magical Forest in Opportunity Village is hosting the 6th annual Menorah Lighting on December 6th. If you are looking for one of the larger Hanukkah celebrations, you can’t miss this event. Be sure to contact Opportunity Village for times and more information by calling 702-259-3741.
8 Crazy Nights of Chanukah
Celebrate in Downtown Summerlin starting December 6th and ending December 13th. With different themed nights every night, you don’t want to miss the party in Downtown Summerlin. Starting at 4PM every night and ending at 7PM, come join locals celebrating Chanukah. The themed nights include Chabad Candle Lighting, Skate Night, Camp Night, and Sports Night to name a few. Friday and Saturday the celebrations will go well past 7PM, so be ready for a night full of fun!
CHRISTMAS IN LAS VEGAS
The Bellagio Fountains and Botanical Gardens
If you are feeling up to braving the Strip, the Bellagio Fountains will be performing to Christmas music starting at 3PM during weekdays and at noon during the weekend. After you’re done watching the fountains, check out the Bellagio Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens and Conservatory is free to all visitors and display beautiful Christmas flower arrangements, thousands of lights and ornaments, a giant Christmas tree and many smaller Christmas trees in the surrounding area. Polar bears, life-sized snow globes, and more will also be featured inside the conservatory. The Gardens will be decorated from December 4th and ends after New Year’s Day.
The Ice Rink
The Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino features an ice rink every year with the best Christmas music and amazing lighting. Enjoy skating with the Las Vegas Strip surrounding you and make memories with your loved ones. Snow showers will shower the ice rink every half hour. The rink will close after New Year’s Day. Call the Cosmo ahead of time to get the times the rink is open, as hours vary depending on what day you go. There is a Locals Discount at the rink, so be sure to bring your ID.
Underwater Christmas
If certain members of your party wanted a tropical Christmas, humor them by visiting Scuba Santa located at the Silverton Aquarium. Scuba Santa will be in the over 100,000 gallon aquarium with the fishes and sharks. Visiting Scuba Santa is free and will be featured from 10AM to 1PM and will be taking pictures and talking with visitors. Once you’re done visiting with Scuba Santa, Visit Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Starting this weekend (December 6th) until Christmas Eve, Santa in the Shipwreck will be featured every weekend from 10AM – 4 PM. Regular Admission charges will apply, be sure to bring your Nevada ID as locals get a discount!
The Crystals Shops
While you’re on the Strip, take a quick walk down to the Shops at Crystals. This mall features high end shops if you are interested in treating yourself this Christmas. If not just walk through this highly decorated mall with a hot coco or coffee and enjoy the decorations!
Town Square Las Vegas Christmas
Town Square goes all out for Christmas. There are several things to do in Town Square for Christmas in Las Vegas such as the Snow in the Square show, which will perform every night (except Sunday) at 7PM and 2 performances back to back on Friday and Saturday. These performances end on December 23rd. You will also be able to take pictures with the over the top decorations at Town Square and santa will be there from now until Christmas Eve. You may have to reserve pictures with Santa in advance, so be sure to look into that before heading over to Town Square. There will also be concerts performed by local students every Thursday from now until December 17th.
Downtown Summerlin Holiday Parade
Though Downtown Summerlin is the newest mall in the area, they are beginning to start their own traditions such as the Holiday Parade. If you live in Summerlin, this parade is a must see and is worth traveling for if you are not a Summerlin resident. The parade will be held at different times until Christmas Eve, so be sure to call ahead of time to see what date and time best fits your schedule.

Fashion Show Mall
The Fashion Show Mall located on S Las Vegas Blvd is hosting “Adventure to Santa” where you can group up and search for Santa. This search is Shrek Themed and participants can get a photo with Santa after they’ve finished their search.
Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest
Over 3 million lights await the 150,000 plus visitors who come by this Holiday display every year. Tourist and Locals can ride the train through the forest, take pictures with Santa, or ride Opportunity Village’s Carousel. Money from this event is used to support the disabled. Visit the Magical Village from now until January 3rd from 5:30PM – 9PM or 10PM on weekends.
Sam’s Town Winter Wonderland
Mystic Falls inside of Sam’s Town becomes completely redone with Christmas decorations. Santa will visit during scheduled times, so you may want to call ahead to make sure you don’t miss him! There will also be a 15 minute laser light show which is displayed every hour after 5PM during December. This park inside of Sam’s Town Casino will be free and open to the public.
Christmas Lights Display at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Drive through the Las Vegas Motor Speedway between now and New Year’s Day to experience the most beautiful display of Christmas lights. This display allows visitors to purchase hot coco and coffee if they want and drive their own cars through the speedway and see the amazing Christmas lights and decorations. This costs $20 per car and will be held from now until after New Year’s Day from 5:30PM – 9PM or 10PM on weekends.
Kwanzaa at West Las Vegas Arts Center
Celebrate the true meaning of Kwanzaa December 26th and 27th from 11AM – 4PM at the West las Vegas Arts Center. This event includes a keynote speaker coming to discuss education, a Marketplace Bazaar where local vendors will sell various african art, crafts, and more. A dance and Drum workshop will be held from 11AM-12:30PM on the 26th, Kinetic Yoga Workshop will be held from 11AM-12:30PM on the 27th, and the keynote speaker will be discussing education from 1PM – 4PM.
Party on the Las Vegas Strip
The Las Vegas Strip goes nuts on New Year’s Eve. If you have children in your party, you may want to stay off the Strip and watch from a hotel with Strip views. For those feeling up to the chaos, you will have an experience of a lifetime as at least 7 of the Strip’s major casinos will have fireworks shot off from the rooftops. These fireworks last almost 10 minutes and light up the entire valley. Some things to keep in mind is that they close the Strip off to car traffic around 6PM, and getting to the casino you wish to park at may be difficult or impossible. Also remember that it will be an hour or two after midnight that you will be able to drive your car through the Strip again, so it may be necessary to get a hotel room. Just remember that everything will be more expensive during the holidays in Vegas.

Fremont Street annual New Year’s Eve Party
Ring in the new year with thousands of others joining in on the New Year’s Eve Party on Fremont Street. Last year’s party included well over 300,000 participants. If you want to get a park anywhere near the party, you better get there hours beforehand. Casinos close their doors at 11PM to try and control the crowds and won’t open them again till 30 minutes into 2016. Tickets cost $30, but will rise in price after Christmas day. Participants must be over 21 and will get to enjoy hours and hours of live music by 12 of the best tribute bands on 2-3 stages on Fremont.
