Cadence, a Henderson Master Planned Community, is located along E Lake Mead Parkway. This master-planned community contains over 2,000 acres of housing, parks, paths, and open space. Actually, 450 of the 2,200 acres are dedicated to parks and open spaces for residents of the community to enjoy. Cadence also has a free bike-sharing program for its residents. Cadence is one of the newer master-planned communities and many of the homes, condos, and townhouses are yet to be built. When Cadence is completely finished, a process that may take another 15-20 years, it is estimated to home over 30,000 residents.

MASTER-PLANNED COMMUNITY

Currently, there are 9 communities that are planned for Cadence. These nine include Heritage, Monroe, Symphony, Crescendo, Huntington, Toccata, Chelsea, At The Park, and Park Place.

All these communities will have access to Central Park, which is designed to have a pool and pool deck overlooking the Las Vegas Strip and the Las Vegas Valley. This park will measure approximately 50 acres. This park will have a few other features that residents can discover in the summer of 2016. Sports Park will also be accessible to residents who are interested in little league fields, soccer fields, and baseball fields. There will also be neighborhood parks located throughout the master-planned community. These will offer trails, grass areas, benches, and free wifi.

SCHOOLS

There are already school sites for 3 elementary schools, a middle school, a private middle and high school, and a site for Lake Mead Christian Academy. This allows residents many options for their children and those with smaller children will have quick access to the elementary school near them. These new public schools will be a part of the Clark County School District.

This school district is in the top 5 largest school districts in the United States. This school district currently hosts over 300,000 students and employs over 40,000 Nevada residents. These schools host a variety of sport, educational, and music, and arts programs as well as several Magnet Schools and technical schools. Much special education and secondary education options are offered by this school district as well to insure that everyone receives has access to a great education.

Henderson is home to many master-planned communities. Master-planned communities are popular in the Las Vegas valley as many companies have been able to purchase large plots of land and draw out community plans before building. This puts residents very close to schools, parks, shopping and grocery stores, and office buildings for potential jobs. With everything located just a few minutes away, residents don’t usually have to travel more than 5 minutes away to run errands.

LOCAL FEATURES

Henderson is located near the McCullough Mountain Range. Residents appreciate the beauty these mountains bring to the area. The mountain range is split into the north half and the southern half. Both are separate federal wilderness areas, but the northern half shows signs of ancient volcanic activity while these signs such as volcanic rocks are not found on the southern half.
