Certified Residential Specialist, or CRS, is a designation that is in association with REALTOR®. This designation requires many additional hours of schooling and education as well as close a certain number of transactions or a certain amount worth of transactions, sometimes within a certain time frame. The Council of Residential Specialist, who operates the CRS designation, provides education courses and classes to its members including webinars and special events.
The CRS designation is for REALTORS® who are ready to go the extra mile in ensuring that their experience and education separates them from other real estate agents in their area. The CRS designation requirements are only met by the best agents. Certified Residential Specialist close up to twice as many deals as an average REALTOR®, helping them to continue to gain experience at the same time as helping friends and clients buy and sell real estate. Certified Residential Specialist make up only 3% of REALTORS® across the nation. This designation sets a few thousand real estate agents apart from the million plus real estate agents across the nation as REALTORS® who take their job seriously and are willing to go the extra mile for their business.
CRS also has a referral network that allows Certified Residential Specialist to entrust their friends and clients to CRS agents in other parts of the state or country.
